This page gives a description of what each Key and SubKey are for in the Windows Registry.
I have just started this page and will be building it a little at a time. If you do not find what your looking for here see How the Windows Registry Works

This page is divided up into two sections, the two main Hives the the entire Windows Registry is made up from. The HKEY_USERS Hive controls all the current user's settings and stores all none currently logged on user setting. The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Hive controls setting for all users, all hardware settings, all operating system settings, and all software that is available to all users.

Each section describes what Keys are normally displayed and what they do. However there are some differences between the different versions of Windows. So this page contains general information.

If you are looking for a specific Key that is not listed here yet, email me at techsupport@easydesksoftware.com and I will try to post it next.
